This is a data storytelling website project produced by D3.js, p5.js, and Illustrator, presenting the data information of asteroids No. 1-5000. Data from the MPC (Minor Planet Center).
Asteroids are the only objects that can be named by discoverers and accepted by the world of all kinds. Behind these names lies the romance of astronomers. On a larger scale, the boundless starlight in front of us is the mystery of the real world that has never been seen behind us.
From a macro perspective, the observation of asteroids partly reflects the scientific research of astronomers around the world, the trend of its quantity change can give a general picture of world development. From a micro perspective, we can also tell the stories of individual astronomers.
